Ammann: the perfect paving and compaction solution
The Swiss brand’s machines will be available throughout Spain thanks to the new agreement made with Ascendum Maquinaria.
The agreement between both companies stands out for the strategic partnership of two giants in the international industrial and construction machinery sector: Ammann and Ascendum. In this way, road construction professionals will be able to benefit from the quality of Ammann products, as well as the best commercial advice and comprehensive after-sales services from Ascendum, available throughout Spain.
Why does Ammann stand out?
The Swiss company is a global leader in the marketing of construction and paving machines, with a particular focus on the road sector. Operating since 1869, Ammann stands out for producing robust products with excellent performance and low maintenance, easy to use, and equipped with cutting-edge technology that facilitates compaction and paving work.
Specifically, the company develops two types of machinery: compactors and pavers. Both types of equipment are designed for the efficient and rapid construction of all kinds of roads, with machinery available for any type of job.
These machines are essential for achieving effective and high-quality road paving and construction, as the process requires great precision and efficiency. The paver ensures that the gravel is at the necessary temperature, the exact amount and density are applied, and the required slopes are created for the project. Meanwhile, the compactor rollers pass over the hot gravel to shape, compact, and unify it, preventing the formation of cracks and unwanted potholes.
A year ago, Ammann marketed its own pavers, but in June 2024, the Swiss company acquired the acclaimed ABG paver line from Volvo CE. However, Ammann has not made any changes to the manufacturing process of the pavers and has kept the same factory in Germany. In this way, the ABG pavers continue to offer the same quality as always, just under a different name.
Now, the ABG line, managed by Ammann worldwide and by Ascendum in Spain, includes two types of pavers. There are two wheeled options (ABG 2870 and ABG 6870), and five tracked options (ABG 2820, ABG 4820, ABG 6820, ABG 7820, and ABG 8820) to suit any type of job required, all with the same efficiency, power, and productivity as always—delivering the same quality under a different name.
On the other hand, Ammann rollers are produced by the brand itself and are a benchmark for quality and efficiency in the road construction and agricultural soil compaction sectors. In this regard, their rollers are divided between single drum rollers, ideal for base asphalting, and double drum rollers, which are more precise and therefore perfect for compacting the final layers of asphalt with precision.
The Swiss company has been perfecting these compactor rollers since its beginnings more than 150 years ago and, as a result, has developed models to meet and adapt to customers’ needs. Now, thanks to Ascendum, we can enjoy all 11 Ammann roller models throughout Spain to meet the compaction tasks required by our clients.
Conclusion
The alliance between Ammann and Ascendum represents a unique opportunity for the construction sector in Spain, offering high-quality paving and compaction machinery backed by exceptional advisory and after-sales service. With more than 150 years of experience, Ammann continues to innovate and provide efficient, long-lasting solutions for road construction, thus ensuring high-performance projects with a long service life.
