Ascendum Maquinaria, with its headquarters in Spain, leads the reduction of the carbon footprint with a 2-year plan
Ascendum Maquinaria, with Spain at the helm, has begun to take decisive steps towards sustainable activity, with the implementation of a Carbon Footprint Reduction and Energy Savings Plan in its facilities.
This plan will reduce energy costs associated with daily operations, such as:
- Improve the efficiency of current energy consumption;
- Reduce emissions from daily operations;
- Carry out a conversion of energy consumption from fossil sources to renewable sources.

The ultimate goal is to reduce 50% of the Carbon Footprint in 5 years, starting with a 15% reduction in the first year.
To develop this plan, Ascendum Maquinaria carried out an energy assessment to identify areas where energy efficiency could be improved, including an in-depth evaluation of lighting, heating and ventilation solutions, air conditioning systems, as well as equipment and machinery. used in the daily operations of the company.
The first and most immediate measure to implement has been the installation of solar panels at the headquarters in Ciempozuelos, Valladolid and Granada. Ascendum Maquinaria España will reduce 176 Tons of CO2 per year, which is equivalent to 8,130 trees and will save approximately €47,500 in annual energy costs.
To strengthen this carbon footprint reduction plan, other important initiatives are being implemented:
- Installing more efficient lighting and heating systems, and programming them to turn off automatically when use is not necessary.
- A continuous effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with operations, not only internal but also external, with a direct impact on our employees, customers and suppliers.
The emission of greenhouse gases has increased significantly in recent decades, resulting in accelerated climate change and the degradation of our planet. The commitment to zero carbon emissions is a joint effort of society, governments and proactive private sector initiatives, with companies implementing environmentally sustainable practices.
Ascendum aims to be an essential player in this positive change in our industry, embracing sustainability not only as an ethical responsibility but also as a strategic business decision. Therefore, we are expanding these initiatives to other geographies (there are other Ascendum markets that are already following this plan to reduce the carbon footprint), adopting clean energy solutions and promoting electromobility and therefore reducing carbon emissions. carbon for both our products and our own operations.
