    Quality and the Environment

    An integrated management policy

    The ASCENDUM Spain companies, in the development of their machinery trade and repair activity, establish a set of principles and guidelines, which aim to continuously improve the system and contribute to the environment and sustainability.

    To do this, they assume the following commitments:

    • Develop service and product/service provision in order to meet the expectations of customers and other relevant stakeholders.
    • Develop a performance standard that reconciles expected time and cost with good environmental performance.
    • Act with the continuous objective of achieving quality of services.
    • Provide an organization so that our professionals and suppliers carry out the work within the Quality Standard that is intended to be followed.
    • Assume that Quality is our priority objective, in a vision of systematic promotion of continuous improvement.
    • Adopt Environmental Protection measures, through the control of environmental aspects, generating the lowest possible environmental impact (production of hazardous waste, consumption of natural resources and consumption of energy resources).
    • Continuously improve the environmental performance of the services provided.
    • Comply with all applicable compliance obligations and/or subscribed by the organization, implementing measures aimed at preventing pollution.
    • Ensure the training and awareness of all employees in order to ensure their involvement in the Environmental Management System, and the adoption of environmentally correct behaviors.
    • Disseminate the adopted Integrated Management Policy to clients, suppliers and interested parties, so that everyone is aware of their responsibilities in relation to the commitments assumed, and is aware of the environmental impacts of ASCENDUM Spain.

    Quality, environmental and safety requirements for suppliers and subcontractors

    All service providers/subcontractors performing work for ASCENDUM companies in Spain must agree to comply with the standards listed below:

    Quality
    • Comply with the legislation applicable to the product or Service provided, including company and technical qualifications if applicable or required.
    • Ensure the quality of the product/service provided.
    • Meet agreed delivery times.
    • Provide technical and after-sales assistance when necessary and applicable.
    Security
    • All applicable legislation in the field of the service provided is mandatory, with special attention to aspects related to Safety, Hygiene and Health at Work and Environmental Protection
    • It is mandatory to communicate the beginning and end of the service provision to the local manager (when it is carried out at Ascendum facilities).
    • It is strictly prohibited to drive more than 10 km/h in our facilities. Construction equipment has priority over any other vehicle.
    • The use of personal protective equipment appropriate to the service provided is mandatory, as well as continuous training of the Technician in question. This training must be recorded and, when requested, provided.
    • Smoking is expressly prohibited within our facilities.
    • Communication of all work-related incidents/accidents that occur during the provision of services at our facilities is mandatory. When applicable, the presentation of the Certificate of Professional Aptitude (CAP) will be mandatory

     

    Environment
    General
    • It is mandatory to comply with all applicable environmental legislation in the scope of the service provided.
    Gas emissions
    • The good condition of vehicles and equipment must be guaranteed to minimize the gases emitted.
    Waste
    • The waste generated in our facilities is the responsibility of the company that provides the service, which is responsible for carrying out adequate monitoring thereof, in accordance with current Environmental Legislation. Documentation must be provided to prove it.
    • Service providers may not burn or dump waste.
    Environmental accidents
    • The good condition of the vehicles/equipment must be guaranteed to avoid spills.
    • Whenever an environmental accident occurs (spill, fire, water leak), it must be reported immediately to the local Manager of the
      Respective Business Unit.
    Noise
    • The good condition of the vehicles/equipment must be guaranteed to avoid excessive noise.
    • Avoid unnecessary noise (honking, accelerating sharply, etc.).
    • All equipment used outdoors must comply with regulations regarding noise emissions. (CE marking and declaration of conformity)
    Chemical products
    • The presentation of Safety Data Sheets for all chemical products used in our facilities is mandatory.
    • Chemical product containers must be identified.
    • Containers of chemical products must remain closed after use.
    Water, energy and fuel consumption
    • The consumption of these resources must be minimized as much as possible. Situations such as unnecessarily connected equipment,
      open taps, clearly visible leaks, etc.

     

    The selection and evaluation of suppliers is based on the following criteria:

    Quality/price ratio, delivery time, flexibility in orders, technical and after-sales assistance, and Environmental Certification.

     

    Consumer Arbitration System

    In accordance with Royal Decree 231/2008, of February 15, which regulates the Consumer Arbitration System, this is configured as institutional arbitration for extrajudicial resolution of conflicts between consumers and companies or professionals:

    It can be presented to the Consumer Arbitration Board directly or through a Consumer Association.
